Pest Control Credentials
In the U.S., Federal law requires states to license exterminators, but each state has different requirements and applies them differently. Hiring a company that meets your state’s requirements is essential but does not speak to the business practices of the company or the impact of their services. QualityPro is the only national credentialing authority of the professional pest management industry. Less than 3% of pest control companies in the U.S. have earned this prestigious accreditation.
Once a company has earned accreditation, it can go on to certify specific services they offer, including:
Other 3rd Party Industry Certifications
QualityPro certifies companies and services. The Associate Certified Entomologist-Pest Control (ACE-Pest Control) and Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) program run by the Entomological Society of America certifies the entomological knowledge of an individual. ACE certification is offered to those with training and field experience in structural pest management. For more information about ACE and BCE, please visit http://www.entocert.org/ace-certification.
2nd Party Certifications
Second party certification is when the person certifying has a relationship with the individual or company being certified. Companies may have internal certification programs for their employees. Product manufacturers and distributors have certifications for their products and services that utilize them. These programs are important for internal quality control and recognition but are not objective credentials.
